Enhancements of Solidworks 2008 - Isolate the body in part mode
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
What is isolate command?

The Isolate command sets all components except the selected ones to be hidden, transparent, or wireframe, enabling you to focus on the selected components.

Before you exit Isolate, you can save the display characteristics to a new display state. Otherwise, the display returns to its original state without any permanent changes.

In Solidworks 2007 and its previous version we can isolate one or more parts in a solidworks assembly. we can't isolate the body in multibody part environment in solidworks 2007.

But in Solidworks 2008 we can isolate one or more selected bodies in a multibody part so that the isolated bodies are fully displayed.

The isolate control box lets us control whether the bodies that are not isolated are hidden or transperant. The display we select applies to a single view or mutiple views.

Exiting isolate resets the display of all bodies to the display that was set prior using isolate .

This capability is useful to product designers that work in multibody part mode to make molds or weldments
